This page will produce an allocation schedule that will allow you to specify group membership for students or participants when creating Zoom breakout rooms or other types of groups.

Each generated allocation schedule comprises a set of 'rounds', where each round is a set of participant groups. The primary constraint for an allocation schedule is that no two participants will be paired with each other more than once.

To generate an allocation schedule, you need to specify:

  1. The number of participants, a number between 6 and 150 (and some instances for up to 176)
  2. Number of participants in each group (Drop down menu)

The last number is optional and automatically produces options that are valid, although we cannot guarantee all of these options exist. If no allocations show, it means we currently do not have a solution for that value, and you should try searching with another value.

All of our allocations provide the largest number of rounds possible for that configuration of group sizes and participant numbers.

Note that you do not specify the size of the groups: the system will automatically generate good balanced allocation schedules. More than one allocation schedule may be available for your combination of group size and number of participants.
